Introduce the `chrome.contextualTasksPrivate` extension API to allow
privileged component extensions to interact with the Contextual Tasks
feature. This change wires up the necessary build rules, WebIDL
definitions, permissions, feature flags, and histogram entries.

The API exposes two primary methods:
* `getState`: Queries the `ContextualTasksEligibilityManager` to determine if the current profile is eligible for Contextual Tasks. Returns a state object indicating eligibility.
* `launchPanelInNewTab`: Accepts a target URL and an AIM URL. It validates both URLs (ensuring they use HTTPS and are valid AI URLs), opens a new tab adjacent to the active tab with the target URL, and launches the Contextual Tasks UI in the side panel loaded with the AIM URL via the `ContextualTasksUiService`.

Access to this API is restricted to component extensions and is guarded
by the `kApiContextualTasksPrivate` feature flag, which is disabled by
default.
A recent security hardening CL (crrev.com/c/7738373) introduced a
regression where valid local URLs (like file:// URLs for local PDFs) in
saved tab groups were being overwritten with the New Tab Page on startup
(during session restoration).

This happened because the CL enforced a strict HTTP-only URL validation
during proto-to-model conversion (DataToSavedTabGroupTab), which is used
when loading from the local database.

To fix this, we now sanitize incoming remote sync data at the boundary
in AddDataToLocalStorage before it is written to the local database.
This ensures that the local database remains clean of unsafe remote
data, allowing us to safely trust the database when loading.

Consequently, we introduce IsURLValidForLocalTab, which permits
HTTP/HTTPS, NTP, and file:// URLs. We use this helper in
DataToSavedTabGroupTab to preserve valid local URLs like file:// when
loading from the DB, while still falling back to NTP for invalid or
unsafe internal URLs (like chrome://history). Similarly, the UI-level
checks in LocalTabGroupListener and SavedTabGroupWebContentsListener are
updated to use this helper to allow navigating to and opening local
file:// URLs.

Corresponding unit tests have been added to verify that file:// URLs are
preserved during local conversions and that remote file:// URLs are
correctly sanitized during sync ingestion.

- Part 1: https://screencast.googleplex.com/cast/NjQ1Mzg3MTI1MjYwMjg4MHw2YWNjNTI5MC00MA
- Part 2:

Bug: 521206310
Demos:
https: //screencast.googleplex.com/cast/NTkxOTg1MDY1NTM4MzU1Mnw1N2FkYzg0Mi00NQ
Test: Manual verification was performed to confirm that local PDFs in tab groups are restored correctly on startup.
Change-Id: I1eda20549e8d4afc1a519bd76bd315de554ba38c
Reviewed-on: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/7915401
Reviewed-by: Darryl James <dljames@chromium.org>
Reviewed-by: Mahmoud Rashad <mmrashad@google.com>
Commit-Queue: Hamzah Behery <behery@chromium.org>
Cr-Commit-Position: refs/heads/main@{#1646272}
The supplementary container animation (which translates both the pin tab
strip and the hub search box gap) was protected by an early-return
whenever an animation was in flight. During a fast fling,
DirectionalScrollListener burst-fires show/hide requests every ~50ms;
any request that arrived mid-animation was silently dropped. A direction
reversal therefore left the container at the wrong translationY, hiding
the strip and covering the search box.

Replace the early-return with a three-way decision:

- New target matches the in-flight target: skip the new request so
 the in-flight animation finishes smoothly (avoids snapping when
 ValueAnimator.end() would jump to the final value).
- New target differs: force-finish the in-flight animation and start
 a new one so the latest swipe direction wins.
- No animation in flight: start as normal.

AnimationHandler does not expose its current animator's target, so track
it in a sibling static field, gated on isAnimationPresent().

Add unit tests covering both the burst-of-identical-requests case (must
not force-finish) and the direction-reversal case (must force-finish and
start a new animation).

Before fix animation:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1h0vJIVe7PabLeEjzyK2gkso52haxlwEs/view?usp=sharing
After fix animation:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1htO0qhMZIS2Cm_J0qcLb54SebIZYFgs9/view?usp=sharing

Bug: 522626418
Change-Id: I67122448cd011bf9ab0e28a9558cfc36812cb4f6
Reviewed-on: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/7925348
Commit-Queue: Jingping Sun <jings@microsoft.com>
Reviewed-by: Sky Malice <skym@chromium.org>
Cr-Commit-Position: refs/heads/main@{#1646414}
This CL resolves a regression where the New Tab ("+") button flickers
rapidly while a user is typing a long name into a tab group header or
editor.

The flickering was caused by two issues:
1.
TabContainerImpl::GetMinimumSize() was returning the animating trailing
X of the tabs during animations. In constrained layouts, this caused the
minimum size to fluctuate and exceed available bounds, triggering layout
loops and overflows in FlexLayout.
2. GetMidAnimationTrailingX()
calculated the animating trailing X by taking the max of the right edges
of all animating child views. Due to independent integer rounding of
each view's x and width on every frame, the sum (x + width) jittered by
1-2px, which was perceived as a fast flicker.

Fix:
1. TabContainerImpl::GetMinimumSize() now always returns the stable
steady-state minimum width.
2. GetMidAnimationTrailingX() now returns
the bounds of the invisible overall_bounds_view_ directly. Because this
view is animated as a single entity, its interpolation is free from the
sum-of-roundings jitter.

Before fix:
http://screencast/cast/NjE4ODM3MzU1NDIzMzM0NHxjNjYwODM3Ny05NA

After fix:
http://screencast/cast/NDc1OTY1Nzc4MzQ5MjYwOHwwYWNlZThkZC1iNw

Fixed: 40834413
Change-Id: I51303508f977c33929e5339b10b7d962e876c080
Reviewed-on: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/7928277
Reviewed-by: David Pennington <dpenning@chromium.org>
Commit-Queue: Foromo Daniel Soromou <koretadaniel@chromium.org>
Cr-Commit-Position: refs/heads/main@{#1646316}
This changelist is part of an ongoing series to decouple ChromeOS
code from the main Chrome browser codebase. By migrating away from
ash::ProfileHelper (//chrome/browser/ash) to lower-level Ash APIs such
as ash::BrowserContextHelper (//chromeos/ash/components), it removes
inappropriate upward dependencies from lower-level Ash components to
the higher-level browser application layer. This modernization also
moves code away from heavy, UI-bound Profile objects and toward the
cleaner content::BrowserContext abstraction. Where ProfileHelper wraps
user checks, the migration uses components/user_manager directly.

ChromeUserLogsDataCollector now uses BrowserContextHelper to derive
the primary user's browser-context path, and its unit test uses the
same helper when writing fake log files. The test initializes
FakeBrowserContextHelperDelegate so the lightweight unit-test
environment provides the user-data-dir path source the helper expects.

Bug: b:511961755
Test: CQ
Change-Id: Ifd0cbeca6c3da2b9480de10e323db6fb97e152a6
Reviewed-on: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/7930572
Reviewed-by: Irem Uguz <iremuguz@google.com>
Commit-Queue: Di Wu <diwux@google.com>
Cr-Commit-Position: refs/heads/main@{#1646363}
Focus delegation for the composebox was previously evaluated on every
input plate bounds update. This caused focus to be grabbed repeatedly
during layout height transitions (such as when the composebox auto-grows
as the user types). Furthermore, relying on setTimeout(..., 0) to yield
focus was flaky on slower devices where layout passes had not yet
completed.

Fix this by introducing a public tryFocus() method on the child
component:
- The parent app (app.ts) calls `this.composebox_?.tryFocus()` inside the
 updateComplete block only when the composebox transitions from hidden
 to visible.
- On tryFocus(), the child cancels any pending focus requests and starts
 an active-retry loop.
- It attempts to focus the input. If it fails, it schedules another focus
 pass in the next paint cycle via requestAnimationFrame (up to 10 retries)
 until the browser layout settles.
- Once focus succeeds, it fires a `composebox-focused` event using `this.fire()`
 for the interactive UI tests to hook into.

This completely avoids state-sync issues between parent and child and
ensures resilient focus restoration. Also, re-enabled the interactive UI
test.

Bug: b:521976927
Change-Id: I85053e88b6babb631be60948ec1ed4a2566d5348
Reviewed-on: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/7931814
Reviewed-by: Devi Varaprasad Jonnala <jonnalad@google.com>
Commit-Queue: Josiah Kiehl <kiehl@google.com>
Cr-Commit-Position: refs/heads/main@{#1646341}
Add a bulk variant of QueryURL() that resolves many GURLs to their
URLIDs in a single backend round trip. Each existing QueryURL() call
costs one PostTaskAndReplyWithResult hop to the history sequence and
back; callers that need to look up URLIDs for N URLs (e.g. mapping a
set of currently-open tabs to URLIDs for use as a history_embeddings
URL-ID filter) pay N hops with N CancelableTaskTracker entries.

QueryUrlIds() collapses that to one hop.
