"description": "This patch makes changes to better handle the storage for the app/geckodriver to let us use non-rooted devices. The fixes here are needed to handle pulling/pushing the profile that gets used by fenix (both from raptor, and condprof). Note that `rm` doesn't always work depending on the storage/shell permissions currently in effect. Pushing overwrites existing files, and the pm clear's should handle other files, but there's still a possibility that some prior run data continues existing. A check is added when a non-rooted device is detected to ensure that the user understands the profile of the app will be deleted prior to running the test.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D299548",

"description": "It's been years in the making! 😅 I return to revendoring ANGLE with _tons_ of support from @jnicol, who has done much (most?) of the work associated with this patch. The most important call-outs I can give here are:\n\n- This patch has are a _huge_ number of changes, but don't feel like you need to scrutinize everything exhaustively. This patch only imports changes from upstream ANGLE. In general, we don't expect reviewers to exhaustively review vendored source for code in, say, `third_party/` (which we eventually hope to move our checkout to).\n- This revendoring required nontrivial changes to the update script, which is in a previous patch in this stack.\n- Some Mochitests required adjustments in a previous patch in this stack.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D306414",

"description": "(NOTE: Most of this patch's development was done by @jnicol. I stand behind it as a patch I understand, but want to recognize his efforts as most of its material.)\n\nThe new library `angle_common_shader_state` is now used by both the translator and libGLESv2. We therefore add it to `gfx/angle/moz.build`'s `DIRS` like we do for `angle_common`, and use `already_added_dirs` to prevent it being added multiple times.\n\nDesktop GL front-end support has been removed upstream (in commit b16d105fc63a7365d6809d5033cb1b2172d8d311) so no longer needs to be explicitly disabled.\n\nConversely, there now exists a wgpu/Dawn backend which must be explicitly disabled.\n\nThe `angle_enable_apple_translator_workarounds` arg has been removed (in commit 20b6624a88a599fec92cceaf7d80b0e1141449cf). We must instead manually ensure the required sources are vendored and added to the translator's sources for macOS builds. In the future the need for hacks like this will be obviated by switching to `gn_processor.py` to generate our builds scripts in bug 2035532.\n\nDue to `update-angle.py` flattening GN `source_set`s' sources into the libraries which depend on them, some sources are compiled multiple times in different libraries which are then linked together, causing linker errors. We manually remove problematic sources from one of their libraries to avoid this. Again, this will be fixed in a more robust manner by bug 2035532 (as `gn_processor.py` emits `source_set`s as static libraries).\n\nLastly, the library `//third_party/llvm-build/Release+Asserts/lib/clang/23/lib/windows/clang_rt.builtins-x86_64.lib` is being pulled in as a dependency for some reason, so we filter out any dependencies beginning with `//`. And `synchronization` is now brought in as a genuine dependency on Windows, but we must avoid adding this to `OS_LIBS` on other platforms. For now, we only ever add it to `OS_LIBS` on Windows, as we know that other platforms have no OS lib dependencies. Once again, these issues will be fixed properly in bug 2035532.\n\nCo-authored-by: Jamie Nicol \u003cjnicol@mozilla.com\u003e\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D307728",

"description": "One of the Mozilla-specific patches we had prior to this patch sequence exposed private variable size limits as user-configurable. At that time, the single limit member `MaxPrivateVariableSizeInBytes` enforced both individual and total private variable sizes. This wasn't necessarily the most intelligent check, but it did its job for us.\n\nUpstream, three changes happened that we needed to account for with a new revision of the patch:\n\n1. The `MaxPrivateVariableSizeInBytes` limit was split into `Max{,Total}PrivateVariableSizeInBytes`, splitting out the individual and total size checks into two separate constants.\n2. Both limits now also require opt-in with `ShCompileOptions.rejectWebglShadersWithLargeVariables`. The constants have been migrated to user-configurable limits in our fork; now, update Firefox's code to do the opt-in and proper configuration of the limits.\n3. The individual limit `MaxPrivateVariableSizeInBytes` was updated to be smaller than before. Previously, we enforced 128 KiB; now, it's 64 KiB. This might technically be a breaking change. We're content to let it ship, and see if any users are actually blocked on this. Use `std::min` to preserve the 128 KiB value for both limits, but use lower ones from ANGLE if present.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D309782",

"description": "During ShutdownXPCOM, several NS_ProcessPendingEvents drains run to\nflush remaining main-thread work. The idle jemalloc purge runner\n(TaskController::IdlePurgeRunner) is a repeating IdleTaskRunner that\nre-posts itself via Schedule(true) after each run. Because it is\ncreated with mMayStopProcessing = nullptr, it has no shutdown guard\nand keeps re-posting into these drains indefinitely. The drain never\nempties, and on slow CI machines (debug/ccov) the content process\nexceeds the 20 s shutdown watchdog budget, causing CI failures.\n\nOther repeating IdleTaskRunners (mGCRunner, mCCRunner) avoid this by\npassing a mMayStopProcessing callback that returns true at shutdown,\ncausing Schedule to call Cancel() instead of re-posting. This patch\ndoes the same for the purge runner, using IsShutdownImpending()\nto stop as early as possible. Purging during shutdown is wasteful\nbecause all resources are returned at once on process exit, and\nconcurrent purge work from many content processes shutting down at\nonce adds unnecessary OS churn. This is consistent with\nMayScheduleIdleMemoryCleanup, which already avoids scheduling new\nrunners by using IsShutdownImpending().\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D310102",

That makes AtActiveConnectionLimit think the entry’s single H3 slot is already in use. But when we actually try to find a usable H3 connection, GetH2orH3ActiveConn skips it, because it cannot serve the request. The result is that no replacement connection is created, and the pending transaction gets stuck forever. The fix here is to count only H3 connections that CanReuse(), so we can create a replacement when needed.\n\nThis is only a mitigation, not the real fix. This restores declaring the default filename's extension as the allowed type at setup, and keeps the observer's allowedFileTypes in sync so the format popup still updates the extension as intended by bug 514491.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D310756",
