We additionally need to fetch a\nnumber of ANGLE's dependencies. To do so we first extract the tarball,\nthen parse the DEPS file in the ANGLE repo root to obtain the URL and\nrevision of the required dependencies. Each dependency is then fetched\nand extracted into the correct location, then the entire checkout is\ntarballed up.\n\nvendor_manifest's safe_extract_tar() helper function is moved to its\ntop-level so that it can be imported and reused here.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D306111",

"description": "Previously ANGLE was tracking tags, with a note explaining that we're\nreally tracking branches but tags were a close enough approximation.\n`AngleHost.upstream_tag()` would return the ANGLE branch name currently\nused by Chromium's Beta channel.\n\nThe problem with this is that branches are mutable. New commits appear\nin branches, and we need to detect this even if the Chromium beta\nchannel remains on the same ANGLE branch. This patch therefore\nswitches ANGLE to commit tracking. Similar to before,\n`update_commit()` with a revision of \"HEAD\" will return the ANGLE\nrevision currently used by Chromium's Beta channel, but importantly we\nreturn the sha rather than the branch name.\n\nThis will be important when the updated ANGLE vendor process will be\ninvoked via `mach vendor`, which will be responsible for both checking\nwhether there are any updates and updating the revision in the yaml.\n\nAn upside of this is that `mach vendor` can now be invoked with\neither a branch name or precise revision for the `--revision`\nargument, while retaining the previous behaviour of matching Chromium\nBeta if omitted.\n\nNote that the service previously used to query the Chromium Beta\nchannel is now defunct, so this patch switches to using an\nalternative.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D306112",

"description": "This replaces the existing update-angle.py script.\n\nThe new vendoring process is invoked via `mach vendor`. This fetches\nan ANGLE checkout and required dependencies, then calls the new\nupdate-angle.py script.\n\nThe new script:\n * Applies a set of local patches to the checkout.\n * Generates moz.build files using gn_processor.py\n * Vendors the required files into tree.\n\nLike with the previous script, we programatically determine which\nfiles are required to be vendored into tree. This is preferred to\nrelying on `mach vendor`'s \"include\" and \"exclude\" rules, which are\ntoo coarse for a project as complex as ANGLE.\n\nPatches are also applied via the script rather than `mach vendor`\ndirectly. This is because we must apply patches before determining\nwhich files are required to be vendored, but `mach vendor`/`updatebot`\nlike to commit the update first, and then apply patches in a second\ncommit.\n\nOur usage of gn_processor.py requires the checkout to be contained\nwithin firefox's root `third_party` directory. The ANGLE checkout will\ntherefore now live in `third_party/angle` rather than\n`gfx/angle/checkout`.\n\nNote that the existing `vendor_from_git.py` script is retained despite\nnot being used by the new script, as it is still used for updating\nWebGL conformance tests.\n\nTo keep things reviewable, we have *not* yet revendored using this\nprocess. That will occur in the following patches. The LICENSE file,\nhowever, has been added to the new vendor directory, so that vendoring\nand the updatebot lint succeed.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D306113",

On the actor message path the parent controller has no\nchild, so `controller.input`/`controller.view` are undefined and `details.element`\nis dropped on the wire, breaking the hooks that reach them (`GlobalActions`,\n`Autofill`, `ActionsSearchMode`, `Calculator`, `ContextualSearch`,\n`UnitConversion`).\n\nResolve the element reads from data that survives the wire: `GlobalActions` reads\nthe picked action key from `details.pickedActionKey` (resolved content-side by\nthe telemetry snapshot); `QuickActions`' `pickAction` and `ActionsSearchMode`\ntake the action key and input length from the result payload instead of the\npicked element, and `ActionsSearchMode` recomputes the disabled state from the\naction; `UnitConversion` copies its conversion output from the result payload\ninstead of the picked element's text.\n\nRoute the input/view side effects to the content side: the parent-side\n`UrlbarChildControllerProxy` exposes `input`/`view` stand-ins whose allowed\nmethods (`search`, `_setValue`, `startQuery`, `close`, `startTail150`) forward to\nthe real content objects as an `InvokeContentAction` message, so providers keep\ncalling `controller.input.X()`/`controller.view.X()` unchanged. `ContextualSearch`\npasses the engine's name and aliases (all `search()` reads) as a plain object so\nit stays structured-cloneable.\n\n`this.input` is now a forwarding stand-in on the message path, so the\n`receiveResults` first-result guard checks for the `onFirstResult` method rather\nthan mere truthiness (it only runs on the in-process input; the content side runs\n`onFirstResult` itself).\n\nThe underscore-prefixed `UrlbarInput._setValue` is forwarded as-is here; a\nfollow-up renames it to `setValue` now that it's part of the actor-facing\nsurface.\n\n`browser_glean_telemetry_reenter.js` exercises a provider `onEngagement` that\nblurs the input. On the message path the hook fires only after the pick's\nengagement has been recorded and its session cleared, so the blur's abandonment\nrecord is a no-op rather than the synchronous `record()` re-entry the direct path\nsees; the re-entry assertion is gated to the direct path. Both paths still record\nexactly one engagement and no abandonment.\n\nThe default in-process path is unaffected.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D310360",

"description": "Automatic update from web-platform-tests\n[HiC] Fix behavior for decomposited backdrop-filters\n\nBackdrop-filters currently are unconditionally composited, except in\nthe case of being a canvas descendant with HTML-in-canvas. The\nimplementation in this case had many differences from the viz-side\nimplementations, and this CL corrects two:\n\n 1. We now create a new saveLayer after filtering.\n\nThis is more expensive, however, the prior behavior violated spec,\nsince the filtered backdrop was included in the backdrop of its child\nelements.\n\n 2. We now clear the area outside the backdrop-filter-bounds\n\nThis was causing a few problems but the most noticeable is that the\nfilter extent was unaffected by rounded borders.\n\n 3. When a mask is present, we restore the extra saveLayer early\n\nThis is where most of the complex logic comes from. Unlike downstream\neffects, the mask *does* apply to the filtered backdrop and the\ncontents. This requires us to restore the contents layer. To achieve\nthis, the backdrop-filter layer is pushed onto the effect stack twice\nwith a special flag. In other circumstances, this should be a NOP,\nsince switching to an outer effect should close \"both effects\" (which\nis just one effect with two restore operations required).\n\nThis wasn't required previously as before this change, all effects\napplied to the filtered backdrop and the contents, and thus no special\nlogic was needed for masks.\n\nBug: 523643493\n\nChange-Id: I06e74586c47d37229529509e82bab0a1fc485b80\nReviewed-on: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/8050464\nReviewed-by: Stephen Chenney \u003cschenney@chromium.org\u003e\nCommit-Queue: Claire Chambers \u003cclchambers@microsoft.com\u003e\nCr-Commit-Position: refs/heads/main@{#1661567}\n\n--\n\nwpt-commits: 632a1e7b1be280befa88e7aa3244de5b3fbf37d5\nwpt-pr: 61270",
