That made it slow enough to\nrun out of its timeout on code coverage builds. It is not really a Nova bug: the\ntest has a long intermittent timeout history (bug 1784658) and was already\nfailing on windows11-x86_64/ccov before browser.nova.enabled was turned on by\ndefault, so Nova only pushed an already marginal test over the limit.\n\nSplitting the loop into several add_task()s would not have helped, because the\ntimeout is armed once per file rather than per task.\n\nInstead reuse each window's existing tab and renavigate it, which is what a new\ndocument needs to pick up the prefs, and check both windows concurrently. Same\n144 assertions, roughly half the runtime locally. The error was caught and\nlogged by tab-hover-preview, so it was console noise rather than a functional\nbreak.\n\nReturn whether a thumbnail was actually drawn, and bail out on both teardown\npaths: a currentWindowGlobal that is already gone before getActor(), and a\nfalsy drawSnapshot() result afterwards.       "description": "A glyph that rasterizes from an embedded bitmap strike ignores the sub-pixel\noffset its key asks for and lands on the device grid, so flooring its pen with\nthe sub-pixel bias put it up to 0.875px left of where layout placed it, outside\nits own element. A snapped clip or mask edge then shaved its leading column,\nwhich is what cut the first letter off MS UI Gothic tab titles. Rounding to\nnearest keeps the pen within 0.5px and on the same grid line as a nearest-snapped\nmask edge, so nothing downstream has to compensate.\n\nGlyphFormat::Bitmap and ColorBitmap identify these glyphs exactly: on every\nbackend, the branch that produces them is the branch that discards the sub-pixel\noffset. That is only known after rasterization, so the pen is stored unsnapped\nand snapped in the shader, with the bias chosen by a flag packed into the\ninstance flags at batch time. Snapping a value the shader receives verbatim\nkeeps it bit-exact; re-deriving the pen GPU-side would risk crossing a floor\nboundary at the fractions layout produces.\n\nThe reftest draws Proggy's ppem-11 strike at a range of fractional x positions\nand references each at round(x), with rows either side of the interesting range\nguarding against the pen moving when it should not.
