Automatic update from web-platform-tests
[symbols] Support symbols() in counter() and counters()

Complete CSS Counter Styles L3 `symbols()` by wiring it into `counter()`
and `counters()`. `CSSCounterContentValue`'s list style generalizes from
a name to a `<counter-style-name>` or `symbols()`; `CounterContentData`
builds its anonymous counter style eagerly and stores only that, used by
both the rendered counter and the accessibility alt-text path;
`getComputedStyle` round-trips.

Add WPT coverage for `symbols()` in `counter()`/`counters()`: valid and
invalid parsing plus computed value in the css-content
content-{valid,invalid,computed}.html tests, and accessibility unit
tests for the `counter()` and `counters()` alt-text paths.

The `content-computed.html` rebaseline only adds a `Found 2 FAIL`
summary line: the new passing `symbols()` subtests push the file past
the 50-subtest threshold at which the harness emits that summary. The
two failures pre-exist and are an unrelated quote-concatenation issue,
not a `symbols()` regression.

Class relationships across the counter() path:
- CSSCounterContentValue: the parsed CSS value for counter()/counters()
 in `content`. Holds the counter name, the <counter-style> argument
 (a <counter-style-name> or a symbols() function), and the separator.
- CounterContentData (a ContentData subclass): the computed-style form.
 Stores the resolved name, separator, tree scope, and the anonymous
 CounterStyle built eagerly from symbols(); the symbols() value itself
 is reconstructed on demand for getComputedStyle.
- CounterStyle: the runtime object that generates the counter text; for
 symbols() it is built inline via CreateAnonymousCounterStyle().
- LayoutCounter: renders the counter, resolving its CounterStyle via
 CounterContentData::ResolveCounterStyle() (inline symbols() if
 present, else a named <counter-style> looked up in scope)

Bug: 40747844
Change-Id: I8fa2cf5c0884a7aada3c9e21ffe32019a50a47f4
Reviewed-on: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/8066695
Reviewed-by: Alison Maher <almaher@microsoft.com>
Reviewed-by: Javier Contreras <javiercon@microsoft.com>
Commit-Queue: Ananya Anand <t-anaanand@microsoft.com>
Cr-Commit-Position: refs/heads/main@{#1674627}

--

wpt-commits: bf4714d81e796b9cb98d8e94a31509351a44ac16
wpt-pr: 61752
Automatic update from web-platform-tests
ContainerTiming: cover image paint attribution ordering and cost

Image tests race the resource load against the first pre-paint walk, so
whether the load is notified before or after attribution depends on
cache state. No test pins either ordering, so an attribution change that
only works one way round has no coverage that would catch it.

containertiming-img-already-loaded.html forces the ordering by loading
the resource before inserting the . It passes under both
implementations.

The perf benchmark covers per-image attribution, which nothing measured:
the existing ones use CSS background images (no LayoutImage) and repeat
a single element.
Automatic update from web-platform-tests
layout: Map between pre-transformed and post-transformed selection offsets during display list construction

There are two types of DOM-node-relative text offsets to consider in
layout. One is pre-transformed, that is before any white space collapse
or `text-transform` is applied to the node's text content. This is how
selections are stored, so that they can be updated without triggering a
full layout. The other is post-transformed, that is after white space
collapse and `text-transform`. This is how glyph character advances are
measured. This changes moves the mapping from the first to the second to
display list construction, so that it is done also for form control
selections. This fixes the behavior of visual selections and
`text-transform` in form control elements and is also foundational for
ensuring that the reverse transform can happen during hit testing.

Signed-off-by: Martin Robinson <mrobinson@igalia.com>
Co-authored-by: Simon Sapin <simon@igalia.com>

--

wpt-commits: 65a84f0c44af6db93c1da33643ae1654575c520a
wpt-pr: 61757
Automatic update from web-platform-tests
[WebMCP] Require active frame for declarative tool registration

When parsing HTML containing a declarative WebMCP form (with `toolname`
and `tooldescription` attributes) into a document without a browsing
context—such as via `DOMParser.parseFromString(..., 'text/html')` or
`document.implementation.createHTMLDocument()`—the renderer process is
terminated with `bad_message::RFHI_WEBMCP_DUPLICATE_BIND` (reason 346).

This occurs because forms inside inert documents pass the
`isConnected()` check. Consequently, attempting to register a
declarative WebMCP tool reaches for the parsing frame's interface broker
and binds the WebMCP interface a second time on an already-bound
`RenderFrameHostImpl`, triggering a fatal bad IPC message crash.

This patch fixes the issue by early-returning from
`ScheduleDeclarativeWebMCPToolRegistration()` if the document has no
frame (`!GetDocument().GetFrame()`). This prevents scheduling
unnecessary tool registration tasks or reporting DevTools audit issues
for forms in inert or frame-less documents, while ensuring declarative
tools are only registered for forms connected to an active frame with a
valid browsing context.

Additionally, this ensures we do not attempt registration scheduling or
unregistration when an element's attribute is modified after its frame
has been removed (e.g., when an iframe containing a declarative form
tool is removed from the DOM).

Bug: 540681578
Change-Id: Id68f6b047f5cd9020d540a57d811f2bafc7ad884
Reviewed-on: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/8194424
Reviewed-by: Dominic Farolino <dom@chromium.org>
Commit-Queue: Fr <beaufort.francois@gmail.com>
Cr-Commit-Position: refs/heads/main@{#1674920}

--

wpt-commits: 9a781a6b1e382317d127c4244105f67866506163
wpt-pr: 61785",

EventUtils ends a drop by synthesizing a
mouseup two pixels into the drop target, and since the target here is the tab
group's own label, the tab group takes that for a click and toggles itself. The
test then sees the opposite collapsed state from the one it is waiting for.

Whether the mouseup lands on the label or on the container around it depends on
how the collapsed label is laid out, which is what differs by theme -- with Nova
it misses the label and the test passed. Swallow the click instead of relying on
that.

Autoland scheduled no-nova only for browser-chrome chunks that don't hold this
test, so the landing stuck; the failure shows up on a try push that schedules
more of them.

Differential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D317247
Automatic update from web-platform-tests
Implement CSSOM View GeometryUtils

Web authors need engine-accurate transformed geometry for editors,
overlays, and hit testing. JavaScript polyfills have to reconstruct
Blink layout and frame ancestry, which is incomplete and costly for
deep DOM trees.

Expose getBoxQuads() and coordinate conversion on Document, Element,
Text, and CSSPseudoElement behind the existing experimental runtime
flags. Resolve both endpoints after synchronous layout so lifecycle
updates cannot invalidate a captured LayoutObject. Reuse
LayoutObject::QuadsInAncestor so CSS fragments, inline content, SVG
layout boxes, and transforms use Blink's established geometry paths.

For SVG inline boxes, combine glyph-level fragment items within each
inline box fragment. This preserves one quad per box fragment and keeps
positioned <tspan> geometry consistent with Firefox and existing WPTs.

Reject conversions when either endpoint has no usable layout reference,
when frame trees are disconnected, or when any document on the frame
path crosses an origin boundary. For a non-generated source pseudo,
start at its originating element as required by the transform algorithm.
This matches the non-null IDL while keeping same-origin iframe conversion
available.

Keep the connected-callback WPT deterministic with a fixed workload.
The feature remains experimental while specification and launch review
continue.

ChromeStatus: https://chromestatus.com/feature/6015941766807552

Spec: https://drafts.csswg.org/cssom-view/#the-geometryutils-interface

WPT: https://github.com/web-platform-tests/wpt/pull/61254

Bug: 427918516
Change-Id: I49fab363ea6a14efa97534ded9fd718a741d07dc
Reviewed-on: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/8039580
Commit-Queue: Stefan Zager <szager@chromium.org>
Reviewed-by: Philip Rogers <pdr@chromium.org>
Reviewed-by: Stefan Zager <szager@chromium.org>
Cr-Commit-Position: refs/heads/main@{#1675195}

--

wpt-commits: ff6ddeda853784b0839a832b01050af682ab3009
wpt-pr: 61753
Automatic update from web-platform-tests
Restrict nested cross-origin subframes in prerendering

While current speculation rules permit cross-origin subframe
prerendering, we've reached the consensus that nested cross-origin
iframes prerendering should be prohibited unless their immediate parent
explicitly opts in that via the `Supports-Loading-Mode:
prerender-cross-origin-frames` header.

This change updates PrerenderSubframeNavigationThrottle to compare
subframe origins against the immediate parent frame rather than the main
frame. [Phab D317117](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D317117)
- **V8** SpiderMonkey tightened JIT safety around generators and async functions by preventing inlining and fixing resume and barrier plumbing. [Phab D317127](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D317127)
- **UI** Dragging tab groups is less glitchy now because the synthesized mouseup from a drop no longer toggles the dragged group. [Phab D317247](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D317247)
- **UI** Firefox for Android added tab group sharing and a dedicated share button, making grouped-tab handoff much easier. [Phab D314983](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D314983) [Phab D314984](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D314984)
- **Web Platform** Scroll-driven animation timing got two correctness fixes for pending playback rate and finite timeline auto-rewind behavior. [Phab D317184](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D317184) [Phab D317151](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D317151)
- **Build** Mozilla continued a broad Windows static-analysis cleanup sweep across core subsystems, reducing noise and making analysis defaults more usable. [Phab D311049](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D311049) [Phab D311048](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D311048) [Phab D311047](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D311047) [Phab D311046](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D311046) [Phab D311045](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D311045) [Phab D311044](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D311044) [Phab D311043](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D311043) [Phab D311042](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D311042)
- **Privacy** The monitor feature is now region-gated to the US, tightening launch exposure and regional rollout control. [Phab D316659](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D316659)
- **UI** Desktop polish continued with a cleaner breakout urlbar and a wider theme picker that avoids awkward row breaks. [Phab D316966](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D316966) [Phab D316094](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D316094)
- **Build** Bootstrap on openSUSE Leap is more reliable now because `python3` gets installed explicitly. [Phab D316724](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D316724)

## What landed by area

### JavaScript engine and memory safety
- **V8** SpiderMonkey changed MSetInitializedLength and MSetArrayLength to take an explicit length, simplifying JIT IR semantics. [Phab D316745](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D316745)
- **V8** A new needsPreBarrier flag on MSetInitializedLength improves GC barrier correctness in JIT-generated paths. [Phab D316746](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D316746)
- **V8** Resuming generators now trace ResumeFrameArgs in TraceThisAndArguments, closing a GC tracing gap. [Phab D316747](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D316747)
- **V8** SpiderMonkey added a helper to find the suspend pc before JSOp::AfterYield, making generator resume logic less brittle. [Phab D316748](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D316748)
- **V8** The LoadElementV needsHoleCheck assertion now only checks for the hole value, tightening an internal invariant. [Phab D317121](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D317121)
- **V8** Generators and async functions are now explicitly excluded from inlining, avoiding bad optimization interactions. [Phab D317127](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D317127)
- **Security** Structured clone cleanup got extra diagnostic asserts for Vector internal consistency, helping catch memory lifetime issues earlier. [Phab D316671](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D316671)

### Web platform and standards
- **Web Platform** Scroll-driven animations now apply pending playback rate correctly when auto-aligning the start time. [Phab D317184](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D317184)
- **Web Platform** Calling play() on a finite timeline now resets start time when auto-rewind is required. [Phab D317151](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D317151)
- **Web Platform** WPT coverage landed for CSSOM View GeometryUtils, improving standards tracking around geometry APIs.
