"description": "On built-in displays with a camera housing (the \"notch\"), Firefox was running in the display safe area compatibility mode because it never set NSPrefersDisplaySafeAreaCompatibilityMode to NO. In native fullscreen that gave the content a frame that did not match the usable region, which showed up as letterboxing, most visibly for aspect-ratio-preserving fullscreen video, which ended up with borders on all sides.\n\nSetting NSPrefersDisplaySafeAreaCompatibilityMode to NO opts out of that mode so the content fills the full area below the notch. The menu bar strip at the very top stays drawn black by the system while the menu bar is hidden, which matches other native-fullscreen apps such as Safari; macOS does not let a standard-fullscreen app draw into that strip.\n\nOn displays without a notch this change is inert.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D310868",

Urlbar isn't its\n only external consumer either. `open-tabs` is the name of this icon in the\n Nova icon library [1]. (I previously made this change in D311672 but ended up\n abandoning that revision for a simpler one.)\n\n* Rename the lightning-bolt icon so that the name describes what it looks like\n rather than one way it might be used. `lightning-bolt` is the Nova icon\n library name.\n\n[1] https://www.figma.com/design/PqfaOcMGbX5liEXTTUzeYX/Nova-Components--Experimental-?node-id=8065-29149\u0026m=dev\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D311982",

This splits one extended navigation across two\ntabs, and so across two BounceTrackingStates and two per-container stores: the\nrecord stays with the tab the load started in and is filed under that tab's\nOriginAttributes, while the load commits in another container.\n\nThe container is also re-decided on each redirect and sticks once it changes, so\na chain redirecting through a bound site carries every later hop into that\ncontainer. A tracker bound to nothing can collect state there, in a container\nBTP never classifies it against, and a purge leaves that state behind.\n\nThe fix, which turns the todo() expectations into real assertions, is\ntracked in Bug 2058145.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D315686",

So at least until sccache is improved to handle the situation\nmore smoothly, we're going to need to increase the frame length.\n\nThe previous workaround only applied to automation, where\nmozconfig.cache is used. We however now need to apply it more globally,\nsetting the variable from configure whenever sccache is in use instead,\nalongside the other sccache variables, which also gets it in the\nenvironment of whatever starts the sccache daemon: configure's own\ncompiler checks, make, or client.mk.\n\nThis only moves the setting, without changing the value just yet.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D316436",

"description": "There are a number of features this class provided that MemoryMappedFile can't\nsupport, but which nothing actually uses (writeable files, requesting a region\nsize, etc) which can just be removed.\n\nThis class also introduced a source of const-incorrectness, as it was possible\nto map a file as read-only but then get a RangedPtr to mutable data (a const\npointer to mutable data is not a pointer to const data...). However, the only\nplaces this was used was for memory prefetch, which should never write to the\nunderlying memory. Since the files were always read-only mapped, we can safely\nsay we would already be getting protection faults if it did.\n\nSo we can make the prefetch take a const pointer, and then AutoMemMap can\nalways hold on to read-only data.\n\nThis preserves the existing limit of AutoMemMap only supporting files up to\n4 GB in size, even on 64-bit systems.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D316644",

"description": "Replaces the per-domain blocklist with an enabled_domains_pref allowlist:\nthe pseudo-element is treated as unsupported on every domain that is not\nlisted in layout.css.fake-webkit-scrollbar.enabled-domains, so an empty\nvalue disables it everywhere and \"*\" enables it everywhere.\n\nAn empty value deliberately means \"no domain\" rather than \"every\ndomain\": once the listed sites stop relying on the pseudo-element the\nlist is meant to shrink to nothing, and draining it should leave the\nfeature off rather than silently turn it on for the whole web. That also\nmatches nsContentUtils::IsURIInList, which matches nothing for an empty\nlist. \"*\" is the escape hatch for testing, and\nlayout.css.fake-webkit-scrollbar.enabled remains the global off switch,\nso the blocklist and its plumbing are no longer needed.\n\nThe list starts with mail.google.com (bug 1973196). Its\n::-webkit-scrollbar rules live in an inline stylesheet, so the URL\nbeing matched is the document's. Slack (bug 2016775) is deliberately\nnot listed: that bug was resolved in February when Slack moved the\nnative scrollbar out of view, so it no longer relies on this feature.\nIts rules also come from a.slack-edge.com rather than slack.com, so\nlisting it would mean allowlisting a CDN.\n\nThe domains that were on the blocklist (discord.com, shitposter.world,\ngemini.google.com, content.powerapps.com) are covered by not being on\nthe allowlist.\n\nThe pre-existing ::-webkit-scrollbar reftests load over file://, which\nIsURIInList never matches, so a `defaults` line in reftest.list sets\nenabled-domains to \"*\" for them. The tests that exercise the allowlist\nitself set the list they need on their own line.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D316992",

So they're reached the way UrlbarPrefs already is, via a per-realm\naccessor that calls the services directly when privileged and goes through\nUrlbarChild otherwise. Keeping that in its own module leaves UrlbarShared free\nof `window`, which its header requires. unEscapeURIForUI comes along rather than\nbeing duplicated, since prepareUrlForDisplay ends by calling it.\n\nWorth checking: the display spec now comes from Services.io.newURI instead of\nthe ChromeOnly URL.URI, which is what lets the actor's existing getDisplaySpec\nserve it. Both go through NS_NewURI; I diffed them over IDN, percent-encoded,\nuppercase, IPv6, userinfo and non-special-scheme URLs and they agree\neverywhere. BrowserUIUtils is a system module, so its one-line trailing-slash\nregex is inlined.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D317128",

Search mode is applied asynchronously, waiting on the\nengine store with the restart scheduled off that, so that window is real; over\nthe message path it is a round trip wide.\n\nThe discard now tells the listeners what holds for them either way: no further\nresults are coming. The query's end is withheld the way a\nsuperseded query's is, since nobody is waiting for it either, which collapses\nthe separate id Bug 2062284 added back into one.\n\nWorth checking: the restart still cancels the query in the parent, so the\nlisteners can see that cancellation too.\n\nThe test drives the notifications directly rather than racing the transport, so\nit covers both paths.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D317802",

Tests have been reaching for waitForCondition\ninstead, or hand-rolling bounded wrappers of their own.\n\nThis gives it the failure behavior waitForCondition already has: a timeout, a\nmessage naming the wait, and rejection if the test finishes while the wait is\nstill pending. The timeout defaults to 10s, well under the 45s browser-chrome\ntask timeout. Infinity opts out of it; 0 doesn't, so a miscomputed timeout fails\nfast rather than hanging. Callers that pass no message get one built from the\ncall site and the source of checkFn.\n\nThe 10s default comes out of try runs at 60s, 30s, 20s and 10s across opt,\ndebug, asan and tsan, which turned up a single wait that legitimately needs\nlonger; it's opted out later in this stack.\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D317817",

Under\ntsan that walk runs past a minute, so the bound waitForMutationCondition now\napplies by default cut the wait short where it used to just take a while.\n\nA longer bound is no help: measured against tsan the wait wants more than 60s and\nthe harness gives up on the test at 120s, so anything that fits between the two is\na guess that turns into an intermittent. Opt this wait out and let the harness be\nthe thing that gives up. "description": "The UI test was flaky because:\n\n - It checked all parts of the translation sheet in one snapshot with no retry — but the language dropdowns render a split second late, so the check sometimes ran too early and failed.\n\n - After clicking Translate, it only waited 25s for the sheet to close — but a first translation download ran past 25s when the network hiccuped.\n\nTo fix this, I've added two reusable steps in BrowserPage.kt:\n - verifyTranslationSheetIsDisplayed() — waits for the last dropdown before checking the sheet\n - translatePageFromSheet() — retries the “sheet closed” wait a few times so a slow model download has enough time.\n\nThe UI test successfully passed 100x on Firebase ✅\nAll UI tests successfully passed 1x on Firebease ✅\n\nDifferential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D318032",

No dropped legs.\n\nVerified green on an emulator: JUnit tests=3 failures=0 errors=0 skipped=0, no retry. effcheck and :fenix:ktlint clean.\n\nWhy: Move Fenix smoke coverage onto the maintained ui/efficiency framework and retire the legacy robot-based tests.\n\nContext: part of the ui/efficiency UI-test modernization. That is the wrong unit\nfor a list of uniformly sized items, where a wheel notch moves a fraction of an\nitem and stops mid-item. The vertical tab strip is the case in point\n(bug 2062682).\n\n-moz-line-scroll-amount is chrome-only, not animatable, and takes one length\nthat applies to both axes, so a consumer varies it per orientation rather than\nsetting two values on one element. auto keeps the font-derived amount, and\nmousewheel.min_line_scroll_amount still floors the result.\n\nGetLineScrollAmount() is the single source for both scrolling paths --\nEventStateManager::GetScrollAmount() on the main thread, ScrollMetadata via\nnsLayoutUtils::ComputeScrollMetadata() for APZ -- so this needs no APZ or IPC\nchange, and arrow keys and scrollbar arrow buttons follow the wheel along with\nDOM_DELTA_LINE.
