That is wrong for the document element, because the focusing steps
first substitute the focusable area:

    If new focus target is not a focusable area, then set new focus target to the
    result of getting the focusable area for new focus target, given focus trigger
    if it was passed.

and getting the focusable area has a clause for it:

    If focus target is the document element of its Document

    If focus target is the document element of its Document
        Return the Document's viewport.

https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/interaction.html#get-the-focusable-area

The result is non-null, so the focusing steps proceed and focus moves to the
viewport. The spec makes this explicit in the note on blur(): "if you want to
focus the viewport, call the focus() method on the Document's document element."
We instead left the previously focused element focused.

The "element with one or more scrollable regions" clause of getting the focusable
area is still not implemented; only the document element case is handled here.

* LayoutTests/imported/w3c/web-platform-tests/html/semantics/interactive-elements/the-dialog-element/dialog-closedby-corner-cases-expected.txt: Progression
* LayoutTests/platform/glib/imported/w3c/web-platform-tests/html/semantics/interactive-elements/the-dialog-element/dialog-closedby-corner-cases-expected.txt: Removed.
* Source/WebCore/dom/Element.cpp:
(WebCore::Element::focus):

Canonical link: https://commits.webkit.org/319730@main
https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=322285
rdar://185522165

Reviewed by Per Arne Vollan.

When cross-site subframe navigation that swaps process happens, it is noted that event handlers of pageswap, pagehide
or unload event don't run or don't run to completion. This is observable especially when the even handler post message.
This is because WebFrameProxy::commitProvisionalFrame() sends LoadDidCommitInAnotherProcess to the outgoing process and
then immediately calls setProcess(), destroying the frame's old FrameProcess while that message is still in flight. That
disconnects the process's RemotePageProxy, so anything a handler sends arrives in the UI process with no receiver, and
it shuts the process down outright when this was its last frame.

To fix this, give LoadDidCommitInAnotherProcess message an async reply and let UI process release the reference of the
old FrameProcess after receiving reply. On the receiver web process site, dispatching pageswap and, through
FrameTree::replaceChild() -> detachFromParent() -> closeURL(), pagehide and unload, all happen before the reply is
sent. Since a web process can hang itself from inside one of those handlers (e.g. not sending the reply), the reference
in UI process side also expires after a second.

This fix helps remove a FIXME in API test SiteIsolation.Events, and ensures the test has the same behavior in both full
SI and shared process mode.

* Source/WebKit/UIProcess/WebFrameProxy.cpp:
(WebKit::FrameProcessRefWithExpiration::create):
(WebKit::FrameProcessRefWithExpiration::FrameProcessRefWithExpiration):
(WebKit::WebFrameProxy::commitProvisionalFrame):
* Source/WebKit/UIProcess/WebPageProxy.cpp:
(WebKit::WebPageProxy::commitProvisionalPage):
* Source/WebKit/WebProcess/WebPage/WebPage.cpp:
(WebKit::WebPage::loadDidCommitInAnotherProcess):
* Source/WebKit/WebProcess/WebPage/WebPage.h:
* Source/WebKit/WebProcess/WebPage/WebPage.messages.in:
* Tools/TestWebKitAPI/Tests/WebKit/WKWebView/SiteIsolation.mm:
(TestWebKitAPI::(SiteIsolation, Events)):

Canonical link: https://commits.webkit.org/319732@main",

A small, in-range index buffer combined
with a large baseVertex therefore passes validation while the GPU reads past the end
of the buffer, an out-of-bounds read in the GPU process. This is only reachable when
the WebGL draft extensions setting is enabled, which is off by default.

Fix by passing baseVertex into the shared draw-elements validation and checking the
effective range (index + baseVertex), rejecting a draw whose largest effective index
is past the buffer or whose smallest effective index is negative. Every base-vertex
entry point now forwards its baseVertex and the others pass 0, so ordinary draws are
unchanged.

Test: fast/canvas/webgl/draw-elements-base-vertex-out-of-bounds.html

* LayoutTests/fast/canvas/webgl/draw-elements-base-vertex-out-of-bounds-expected.txt: Added.
* LayoutTests/fast/canvas/webgl/draw-elements-base-vertex-out-of-bounds.html: Added.
* LayoutTests/platform/ios/TestExpectations:
* Source/ThirdParty/ANGLE/src/libANGLE/ErrorStrings.h:
* Source/ThirdParty/ANGLE/src/libANGLE/validationES.cpp:
(gl::ValidateDrawElementsInstancedBase):
(gl::ValidateDrawElementsInstancedANGLE):
(gl::ValidateDrawElementsInstancedEXT):
* Source/ThirdParty/ANGLE/src/libANGLE/validationES.h:
(gl::ValidateDrawElementsCommon):
* Source/ThirdParty/ANGLE/src/libANGLE/validationES2.h:
(gl::ValidateDrawElements):
* Source/ThirdParty/ANGLE/src/libANGLE/validationES3.cpp:
(gl::ValidateDrawRangeElements):
(gl::ValidateDrawElementsInstanced):
(gl::ValidateMultiDrawElementsInstancedANGLE):
(gl::ValidateDrawElementsInstancedBaseVertexBaseInstanceANGLE):
(gl::ValidateMultiDrawElementsInstancedBaseVertexBaseInstanceANGLE):
* Source/ThirdParty/ANGLE/src/libANGLE/validationES32.cpp:
(gl::ValidateDrawElementsBaseVertex):
(gl::ValidateDrawElementsInstancedBaseVertex):
(gl::ValidateDrawRangeElementsBaseVertex):
* Source/ThirdParty/ANGLE/src/libANGLE/validationESEXT.cpp:
(gl::ValidateDrawElementsBaseVertexEXT):
(gl::ValidateDrawElementsInstancedBaseVertexEXT):
(gl::ValidateDrawRangeElementsBaseVertexEXT):
(gl::ValidateDrawElementsInstancedBaseInstanceEXT):
(gl::ValidateDrawElementsInstancedBaseVertexBaseInstanceEXT):
(gl::ValidateDrawElementsBaseVertexOES):
(gl::ValidateDrawElementsInstancedBaseVertexOES):
(gl::ValidateDrawRangeElementsBaseVertexOES):
* Source/ThirdParty/ANGLE/src/tests/gl_tests/DrawElementsTest.cpp:

Originally-landed-as: 305413.1122@safari-7624.5-branch (e21200a08a7a). rdar://185366919
Canonical link: https://commits.webkit.org/319735@main",

Both
settings may also be set by `CommonBase.xcconfig`, so a target that
reassigns either one without `$(inherited)` silently discards the
value `CommonBase.xcconfig` contributes -- with no diagnostic, because
a missing definition produces no warning.

Add `$(inherited)` at every site that overrides one of these two
settings.

Add more checks to check-webkit-style to catch this sooner.
`BaseXcconfigChecker` only read `CommonBase.xcconfig` itself, so it did
not know about the settings `CommonBase.xcconfig` picks up from the
files it includes, and could not flag a clobbered
`SWIFT_ACTIVE_COMPILATION_CONDITIONS` at all. Read those files too,
taking only the settings they append to, since their other settings
are implementation details projects may legitimately override. Require
a standalone `$(inherited)` token, since a nested
`$(...:default=$(inherited))` is a fallback rather than an append.
Flag a hard-coded `$(WK_COMMON_
)` for a setting that has no such
variable, since `$(inherited)` is the only form that preserves the
inherited value there.  Add
`basexcconfig/duplicate-commonbase-definitions` to flag a line that
lists both `$(inherited)` and `$(WK_COMMON_
)`, which repeats the
value `$(inherited)` already provides.

Splice `\\` line continuations into one logical line before parsing, so
a continuation line that contains `=` (such as a preprocessor macro
value) is not misread as a separate assignment and does not produce a
false positive.

Have the checker tests supply the `CommonBase.xcconfig` variables
directly rather than reading them from disk, so they are self-contained
and do not depend on which settings the on-disk `CommonBase.xcconfig`
happens to define.

Tests: Add 6 tests to webkitpy/style/checkers/basexcconfig_unittest.py.

* Source/JavaScriptCore/Configurations/JavaScriptCore.xcconfig:
* Source/JavaScriptCore/Configurations/TestExecutable.xcconfig:
* Source/ThirdParty/ANGLE/Configurations/BaseTarget.xcconfig:
* Source/ThirdParty/libwebrtc/Configurations/yasm.xcconfig:
* Source/WTF/Configurations/WTF.xcconfig:
* Source/bmalloc/Configurations/bmalloc.xcconfig:
* Tools/DumpRenderTree/mac/Configurations/Base.xcconfig:
* Tools/ImageDiff/cg/Configurations/Base.xcconfig:
* Tools/WebKitTestRunner/Configurations/Base.xcconfig:
- Add missing `$(inherited)`.

* Tools/Scripts/webkitpy/style/checkers/basexcconfig.py:
(BaseXcconfigChecker.appends_to_inherited_value): Add.
(BaseXcconfigChecker.logical_lines): Add.
(BaseXcconfigChecker.assignments): Add.
(BaseXcconfigChecker.read_xcconfig_variables): Add.
(BaseXcconfigChecker.included_xcconfig_paths): Add.
(BaseXcconfigChecker.read_common_base_xcconfig_variables):
(BaseXcconfigChecker.check):
* Tools/Scripts/webkitpy/style/checkers/basexcconfig_unittest.py:
(BaseXcconfigCheckerTest.make_checker): Add.
(BaseXcconfigCheckerTest.assert_no_error):
(BaseXcconfigCheckerTest.assert_error):
(BaseXcconfigCheckerTest.test_gcc_preprocessor_definitions): Add.
(BaseXcconfigCheckerTest.test_swift_active_compilation_conditions): Add.
(BaseXcconfigCheckerTest.test_nested_inherited_is_not_an_append): Add.
(BaseXcconfigCheckerTest.test_duplicate_commonbase_definitions): Add.
(BaseXcconfigCheckerTest.test_line_continuation_is_not_a_separate_assignment): Add.
(BaseXcconfigCheckerTest.test_read_xcconfig_variables_joins_line_continuations): Add.

Originally-landed-as: 316606.432@safari-7625-branch (995bfdbc3a08). rdar://185712704
Canonical link: https://commits.webkit.org/319740@main",

Read the port release from SET_PROJECT_VERSION in the checkout's
Options{GTK,WPE}.cmake, as its own step: the version comes from the source
tree, so a failure to resolve a commit identifier says nothing about whether
it can be read, and neither failure should hide the other. A
that isn't inside a styled wrapper inherits its
font from an ancestor, so this comes back as "multiple" even though every bit of text is Helvetica:

    First
Second

On macOS that lands in -[NSFontManager setSelectedFont:isMultiple:], which blanks out the panel's fields.

So stop letting a line break's font decide this; it contributes no text and shouldn't outvote the text
that's actually selected. It's kept as a fallback rather than skipped outright, because a selection
containing only a line break still has to report something — otherwise NSFontAttributeName drops out of
the dictionary and clients get empty attributes instead of a merely wrong font.

This overturns the expectation added in 308562@main, which fixed the neighboring unstyled-wrapper case and
recorded the line-break case as reporting multiple fonts. That commit's stated rule was to count only
"elements with immediate text node children", which a
isn't, so the carve-out reads as preserving
old behavior rather than asking for it, and neither the bug nor the PR says otherwise. It is a real
trade: a bare
on a blank line does affect that line's height, so a selection containing one is no
longer reported as mixed. For a formatting UI, showing the selected text's font is the more useful answer.

Test: Tools/TestWebKitAPI/Tests/WebKit/WKWebView/mac/FontManagerTests.mm

* Source/WebCore/editing/Editor.cpp:
(WebCore::Editor::fontForSelection):
* Tools/Scripts/webkitpy/api_tests/allowlist.txt:
* Tools/TestWebKitAPI/Tests/WebKit/WKWebView/mac/FontManagerTests.mm:
(TestWebKitAPI::TEST(FontManagerTests, SelectionSpanningBRDoesNotReportMultipleFonts)):
(TestWebKitAPI::TEST(FontManagerTests, SelectionContainingOnlyBRStillReportsAFont)):
(TestWebKitAPI::TEST(FontManagerTests, SelectionSpanningBRDoesReportMultipleFonts)): Deleted.

Canonical link: https://commits.webkit.org/319747@main",

AuxiliaryProcessProxy::shutDownProcess()
drops the throttler assertion via ProcessThrottler::didDisconnectFromProcess(),
so it is scoped to the connection. m_boostedJetsamAssertion was not cleared
there, so it was only released by ~ProcessAssertion when the last reference to
the proxy went away -- which can be arbitrarily later, since pages, the process
cache, suspended pages and pending completion handlers all keep the proxy alive
past the child's death.

Clear m_boostedJetsamAssertion from the same scope exit in shutDownProcess()
that already tears down the throttler assertion, so it runs on every exit path
including the State::Terminated early return.

* Source/WebKit/UIProcess/AuxiliaryProcessProxy.cpp:
(WebKit::AuxiliaryProcessProxy::shutDownProcess):

Canonical link: https://commits.webkit.org/319754@main
https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=322372

Reviewed by Jean-Yves Avenard and Darin Adler.

renderFromBuffer() rejected out-of-range loop points and fell back to looping the
entire buffer, which is what the spec's playback algorithm says. But the
loopStart/loopEnd attribute definitions say those values are clamped into the
buffer instead, and the two readings give different output. The Audio WG resolved
the contradiction in favour of clamping in
https://github.com/WebAudio/web-audio-api/issues/2689: clamp both endpoints
first, then fall back to the entire buffer only if what is left is not a range of
positive length. The spec PR has not landed yet, so index.bs still shows the old
guard. Blink already does this in
AudioBufferSourceHandler::UpdateEffectiveLoopPoints(), and we now match it for a
negative loopStart, a loopStart past the buffer duration, loopStart >= loopEnd, a
negative loopEnd, a loopEnd past the duration, and the loopStart == loopEnd == 0
default.

Two configurations change. A negative loopStart looped the whole buffer and now
loops [0, loopEnd), the case the WPT test already asserted. A loopStart past the
buffer duration used to *pass* the old guard, since 0 <= loopStart < loopEnd
holds, leaving virtualMinFrame above virtualMaxFrame and a negative
virtualDeltaFrames; the playback-rate check then bailed out and rendered silence.
Clamping makes that range empty rather than inverted, so it falls back to the
whole buffer.

The forward wrap recomputed its target from the raw m_loopStart rather than the
effective loop points, so it wrapped to loopStart even when playback had fallen
back to the whole buffer. It now uses virtualMinFrame.

One difference from Blink remains, unchanged by this patch: Blink resolves a
loopEnd of exactly 0 to the buffer duration and loops [loopStart, duration),
while the resolution maps any loopEnd <= 0 to 0 and falls back to the entire
buffer.

* LayoutTests/imported/w3c/web-platform-tests/webaudio/the-audio-api/the-audiobuffersourcenode-interface/audiobuffersource-playbackrate-negative-expected.txt:
Rebaselined: "loops backwards using clamped loopStart when loopStart < 0" passes.
The two remaining failures are out-of-bounds start offsets, unrelated.

* LayoutTests/webaudio/AudioBufferSource/audiobuffersource-loop-comprehensive.html:
* LayoutTests/webaudio/AudioBufferSource/audiobuffersource-loop-comprehensive-expected.txt:
Case 14 expected loopStart = -8 with loopEnd = 3 to loop the whole buffer,
contradicting the WPT test. Matrix multiplication is associative (and
close enough to associative in double), so the pair is equivalent to a single
transform by the composed matrix baseTransform() * state().transform. The
operands read in the opposite order from the two calls because AffineTransform's
`A * B` maps a point through B first and then A, so the transform that was
applied second is the left operand.

The second pass is not free. The only caller reaches this via the FloatRect
overload, and PathRect::canTransform is false, so the first transform()
already materializes a platform path; on CG each subsequent transform() is a
CGPathCreateMutableCopyByTransformingPath, i.e. a fresh CGMutablePath
allocation. A lookahead inside the lookbehind is still matched
forward, so its terms must not be reversed, but their inputPosition values
come from the parser and continue the pattern-order numbering of the
enclosing alternative, which does not match the reversed numbering the JIT
gave that alternative. Compiling them as-is would read the wrong characters,
so the JIT refused the pattern.

This patch gives such a lookahead the same treatment as a lookbehind: a copy
of its disjunction, kept in match order, with inputPosition renumbered from
0, compiled with a checked offset of 0. The ParentheticalAssertionBegin op
already moves the index to the assertion's position, so the forward code
works unchanged from there.

reverseDisjunctionForBackward() becomes copyDisjunctionInMatchOrder(), which
handles both directions. m_reversedDisjunctions becomes
m_copiedDisjunctions, and its type changes from
Vector<std::unique_ptr<PatternDisjunction>> to Bag<PatternDisjunction>: the
copies are only created and kept alive until the generator is destroyed,
never looked up, so creating them in place lets the function return a plain
pointer instead of passing ownership around.

                                                 Baseline                  Patched

regexp-lookbehind-lookahead                1411.3836+-12.6421    ^    174.3478+-4.0373        ^ definitely 8.0952x faster

Tests: JSTests/microbenchmarks/regexp-lookbehind-lookahead.js
       JSTests/stress/regexp-lookbehind-jit-lookahead-unicode.js
       JSTests/stress/regexp-lookbehind-jit-lookahead.js

* JSTests/microbenchmarks/regexp-lookbehind-lookahead.js: Added.
* JSTests/stress/regexp-lookbehind-jit-lookahead-unicode.js: Added.
(shouldBe):
(stringify):
(stringifyIndices):
* JSTests/stress/regexp-lookbehind-jit-lookahead.js: Added.
(shouldBe):
(stringify):
(stringifyIndices):
(shouldBe.stringify):
* Source/JavaScriptCore/yarr/YarrJIT.cpp:

Canonical link: https://commits.webkit.org/319758@main",

When targeting based on text, we currently require the search text to be present in the rendered
    DOM of the targeted element. However, in the case where the agent is trying to target a button
    or link that's a sibling of target text, this can cause confusing failures (from the perspective
    of the agent), since the target element doesn't (literally) contain the search text.

    Mitigate this by relaxing the constraints around text search, so that if we don't find search
    text underneath the target container, we fall back to searching the nearest non-inline ancestor
    of the target element for the search text.

2. Instead of surfacing an interaction description like:

    > Click on span with classes “sprite-fm-mono icon-arrow-right expand”

    ...in the case where a targeted element has no text, we should pull text context from rendered
    text siblings within the same block-level container, such that the interaction description can
    look something more like:

    > Click on span with classes “sprite-fm-mono icon-arrow-right expand” before rendered text “Security”

Test: TextExtractionTests.InteractionDescriptionAndSearchTextForLabellessIcons

Test: Tools/TestWebKitAPI/Tests/WebKit/WKWebView/TextExtractionTests.mm
* Source/WebCore/page/text-extraction/TextExtraction.cpp:
(WebCore::TextExtraction::nearestNonInlineAncestor):
(WebCore::TextExtraction::searchForInteractionTargetText):
(WebCore::TextExtraction::resolveMouseTarget):
(WebCore::TextExtraction::adjacentRenderedTextLabel):
(WebCore::TextExtraction::adjacentRenderedTextLabelDescription):
(WebCore::TextExtraction::hasNoRenderedTextOrLabeledChild):
(WebCore::TextExtraction::textDescription):
(WebCore::TextExtraction::precedingRenderedTextLabel): Deleted.
* Tools/TestWebKitAPI/Tests/WebKit/WKWebView/TextExtractionTests.mm:
(TestWebKitAPI::TEST(TextExtractionTests, InteractionDescriptionAndSearchTextForLabellessIcons)):

Canonical link: https://commits.webkit.org/319761@main",

Give placement its own class so
that step 1 of the layout algorithm reads as a single call and GridLayout is
left with only the steps that size and position items.

GridItemPlacer takes the implicit grid rather than building it, so constructing
the initial grid stays the responsibility of ImplicitGrid itself via a new
createInitialGrid() factory. calculateInitialImplicitGridDimensions() moved
there as a file-static helper since it needs no member access, which keeps
GridDimensions out of every header.

Placement only reads the unplaced items -- it writes into the ImplicitGrid --
so placeItems() and GridLayout::layout() now take a const UnplacedGridItems&.
That lets computeIntrinsicWidths() drop the per-scenario clone of the unplaced
items, which was a deep copy of three Vectors per intrinsic width scenario. Its
comment claimed the placement and sizing algorithm consumed them, but nothing
ever mutated them: every ImplicitGrid entry point already took them by const
reference, and the grid cells, grid areas and PlacedGridItems built downstream
all store copies. The clone was not isolating anything, so dropping it leaves
the min-content and max-content scenarios as independent as they already were.

No change in behavior.

* Source/WebCore/Sources.txt:
* Source/WebCore/WebCore.xcodeproj/project.pbxproj:
* Source/WebCore/layout/formattingContexts/grid/GridFormattingContext.cpp:
(WebCore::Layout::GridFormattingContext::computeIntrinsicWidths):
* Source/WebCore/layout/formattingContexts/grid/GridItemPlacer.cpp: Added.
(WebCore::Layout::GridItemPlacer::GridItemPlacer):
(WebCore::Layout::GridItemPlacer::placeItems const):
* Source/WebCore/layout/formattingContexts/grid/GridItemPlacer.h: Added.
* Source/WebCore/layout/formattingContexts/grid/GridLayout.cpp:
(WebCore::Layout::GridLayout::layout):
(WebCore::Layout::GridLayout::calculateInitialImplicitGridDimensions): Deleted.
(WebCore::Layout::GridLayout::constructInitialImplicitGrid): Deleted.
(WebCore::Layout::GridLayout::placeGridItems): Deleted.
* Source/WebCore/layout/formattingContexts/grid/GridLayout.h:
* Source/WebCore/layout/formattingContexts/grid/ImplicitGrid.cpp:
(WebCore::Layout::calculateInitialImplicitGridDimensions):
(WebCore::Layout::ImplicitGrid::createInitialGrid):
* Source/WebCore/layout/formattingContexts/grid/ImplicitGrid.h:

Canonical link: https://commits.webkit.org/319763@main",

They still assert those three are valid, so WebKit -- which
already rejects them, correctly -- reports three FAILs per file that describe the
grammar as it no longer is. But only the first frame is
outside the buffer: the playhead immediately descends back into it. A 4-frame
buffer started at offset == duration with rate -1 therefore rendered four silent
frames instead of one silent frame followed by 4, 3, 2.

This aligns us with the spec, which makes that decision per frame rather than
per quantum:
```
    if (bufferTime >= 0 && bufferTime < buffer.duration)
        output.push(playbackSignal(bufferTime));
    else
        output.push(0); // past end of buffer, so output silent frame
```
Unlike bugs 320870 and 322372, no spec ambiguity is involved: the existing text
already specifies this, and we simply did not implement it.

It also aligns us with Blink, whose "Reverse Out-Of-Bounds Playhead Catch-up"
loop in AudioBufferSourceHandler::RenderFromBuffer() is equivalent, added for the
same reason.

Forward playback is unaffected. With a positive rate the playhead only moves
further past the end of the buffer, so bailing out and rendering silence was
already the correct result and still is.

* LayoutTests/imported/w3c/web-platform-tests/webaudio/the-audio-api/the-audiobuffersourcenode-interface/audiobuffersource-playbackrate-negative-expected.txt:
Rebaselined: "handles offset exactly at duration with negative rate" and
"handles out-of-bounds start offset correctly" now pass.
https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=322388

Reviewed by Yusuke Suzuki.

The WebIDL web-platform-test "If the implementation has a stack property on
normal errors, it also does on DOMExceptions" was still failing after
318930@main. That test compares typeof new Error().stack against
typeof (new DOMException()).stack; we returned "string" for the former and
"undefined" for the latter. Firefox passes this test; Chrome fails it.

318930@main gave DOMException's JS wrapper the [[ErrorData]] internal slot by
making it a genuine JSC::ErrorInstance subclass, but deliberately opted out of
stack capture (StackTraceCapturePolicy::DoNotCapture) to keep the property set
byte-for-byte unchanged. Now that a DOMException really is an ErrorInstance,
there is no reason for it to be the one error in the engine without a stack, so
let it capture one like any other.

ErrorInstance's DoNotCapture policy had exactly one caller, so the enum is
replaced by a single named entry point, finishCreationForEmbedderError(), which
captures a stack trace but still adds no own "message" / "cause" properties.
JSDOMErrorWrapper calls it. "stack" (and WebKit's non-standard "line", "column"
and "sourceURL") then materialize lazily through the existing
materializeErrorInfoIfNeeded() path, so they are DontEnum and honour
Error.stackTraceLimit exactly as they do for a plain Error, and DOMException's
name/message continue to come from the WebIDL getters on the prototype rather
than from own properties. This also covers DOMException's subclasses
(WebTransportError, GPUPipelineError, RTCError, OverconstrainedError).

Giving DOMException a stack also stops WPT's
structured-cloning-error-stack-optional.sub.window.html from skipping its
DOMException cases, at which point it asserts that a clone reports the same
stack as the original. That failed, because dumpDOMException() serialized only
the name and message, so a clone reported the stack of whichever frame did the
deserializing. The four "web API-created DOMException" subtests were already
failing this way, since createDOMException() has always given engine-thrown
DOMExceptions a stack.

So serialize the line/column/sourceURL/stack alongside the name and message.
That needs wire format version 16, and the extra fields are read back behind a
version check so version 15 and earlier data still deserializes.
ErrorInstance::setErrorInfoForEmbedderError() replaces the stack trace captured
when the wrapper was created with the deserialized information, still leaving
the properties to materialize lazily, so a cloned DOMException and a cloned
Error behave the same way. All 20 subtests of that test pass now, up from 12.

createDOMException()'s addErrorInfo() call is now partly redundant, since
creating the wrapper on the preceding line already captures a stack trace, but
it is kept: it is what gives a "stack" of "" to exceptions created with no JS
frames on the stack, such as an asynchronous rejection. Dropping it made
WebGPU's mapping.spec.js fail its typeof ex.stack === 'string' assertion for
mapAsync rejections.

Two consequences worth noting. Surfacing a DOM exception to JS now pays for a
stack trace capture, the same cost `new Error()` already pays. And, as with every
serialization version bump, data written by this build cannot be read by older
versions of WebKit.

* LayoutTests/fast/storage/serialized-script-value.html: Bump the pinned wire
format version.
* LayoutTests/imported/w3c/web-platform-tests/WebIDL/ecmascript-binding/es-exceptions/DOMException-custom-bindings.any-expected.txt:
* LayoutTests/imported/w3c/web-platform-tests/WebIDL/ecmascript-binding/es-exceptions/DOMException-custom-bindings.any.worker-expected.txt:
* LayoutTests/imported/w3c/web-platform-tests/html/infrastructure/safe-passing-of-structured-data/structured-cloning-error-stack-optional.sub.window-expected.txt:
* LayoutTests/js/dom/dom-exception-stack.html: Added.
* LayoutTests/js/dom/dom-exception-stack-expected.txt: Added.
* Source/JavaScriptCore/runtime/ErrorInstance.cpp:
(JSC::ErrorInstance::finishCreationForEmbedderError):
(JSC::ErrorInstance::setErrorInfoForEmbedderError):
* Source/JavaScriptCore/runtime/ErrorInstance.h:
* Source/JavaScriptCore/runtime/StructuredCloneTags.h:
* Source/WebCore/bindings/js/JSDOMWrapper.h:
(WebCore::JSDOMErrorWrapper::finishCreation):
* Source/WebCore/bindings/js/SerializedScriptValue.cpp:
(WebCore::CloneSerializer::dumpDOMException):
(WebCore::CloneDeserializer::readDOMException):

Canonical link: https://commits.webkit.org/319782@main",

This is a temporary measure and will likely be removed at
some point in the future. To help facilitate this process we show a
deprecation warning in the web inspector. When the old name is used the
web inspector will show a warning icon next to the declaration and a
hover will inform the user that the property name is deprecated.

* Source/WebInspectorUI/UserInterface/Views/SpreadsheetStyleProperty.js:
Rather than creating a generic deprecated alias mechanism I just extend
the logic here to consider the flow-tolerance/fit-tolerance case
directly. I do not expect this type of behavior to become more of a
common occurrence in the future and definitely would not want to
encourage it!

* Source/WebCore/css/CSSProperties.json:
The property definition was sitting in the middle of the inset-* block,
which it has nothing to do with. Move it to the end of the grid family so
it lives next to the other css-grid properties. This is a pure move; the
definition itself is unchanged.

* LayoutTests/imported/w3c/web-platform-tests/css/css-grid/grid-lanes/animation/flow-tolerance-interpolation.html: Removed.
* LayoutTests/imported/w3c/web-platform-tests/css/css-grid/grid-lanes/animation/flow-tolerance-interpolation-expected.txt: Removed.
* LayoutTests/imported/w3c/web-platform-tests/css/css-grid/grid-lanes/animation/fit-tolerance-interpolation.html: Added.
* LayoutTests/imported/w3c/web-platform-tests/css/css-grid/grid-lanes/animation/fit-tolerance-interpolation-expected.txt: Added.
The interpolation test has to use the canonical property name rather than
the alias. The Web Animations portion of the interpolation harness hands
the property to Element.animate() in IDL form, and
IDLAttributeNameToAnimationPropertyName() rejects any name that does not
round trip back to itself, so keyframes naming "flowTolerance" are
dropped and the Web Animations subtests all observe the initial value
instead of an animated one. The CSS Transitions and CSS Animations
portions set the property through style.setProperty(), where the alias
resolves normally, which is why only part of the test was affected.

* LayoutTests/imported/w3c/web-platform-tests/css/css-cascade/all-prop-initial-xml-expected.txt:
* LayoutTests/platform/glib/imported/w3c/web-platform-tests/css/css-cascade/all-prop-initial-xml-expected.txt:
This test enumerates the computed style property list, which is sorted by
property name and does not include aliases, so the entry is renamed and
also moves out of the "fl" block into the "fi" block.

* LayoutTests/TestExpectations:
* LayoutTests/platform/glib/TestExpectations:
* LayoutTests/platform/wpe/TestExpectations:
Follow the test rename.

Canonical link: https://commits.webkit.org/319795@main
https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=322336
rdar://185594943

Reviewed by Per Arne Vollan.

On Mac, cached and prewarmed processes run at the background rather than the idle jetsam priority
level for a few reasons:

- All processes run with a permanent jetsam boost assertion.
- Prewarmed processes run with a background lifetime activity until the first page attaches to the
  process (mostly due to the complexity around the setRunningBoardThrottlingEnabled pref).
- Cached processes purposely hold a background activity for ~30s (see cachedProcessSuspensionDelay)
  as a PLT optimization, which boosts the process to the background jetsam level for that period.

Ideally, cached and prewarmed processes would always be at the idle jetsam level, because that
allows the kernel jetsam to kill them to reclaim memory as necessary instead of needing to wait
until the memory pressure handler fires in the UIProcess (which can take a while since the system
purposely spaces out sending memory pressure notifications to avoid thundering herd issues).

(Note that processes in the WebBackForwardCache are already at idle jetsam level, since we only
insert them in to that cache if they are holding no activities.)

The cleanest way I could figure out how to shoehorn this in to the existing ProcessThrottler
machinery was to add a new ProcessThrottler property that makes background activities use the idle
jetsam band. This maps to a new BackgroundIdleBand assertion type.

One confusing thing is that the BackgroundIdleBand assertion type maps to the existing "Suspended"
assertion in LifecyclePolicy. Despite the name, this is an assertion type that allows the process,
to run, but at the idle jetsam priority, which is what we want here.

Testing that cached and prewarmed processes actually get to idle jetsam level reliably is pretty
tricky because we may refuse to spawn those types of processes while under memory pressure, and the
system might kill those processes before we can read their jetsam level. Also, reading the jetsam
level of a process as an unprivileged user can basically only done via `top`. Instead, the API test
here just makes sure that `setJetsamBoost` itself works.

Test: Tools/TestWebKitAPI/Tests/WebKit/WKWebView/ProcessJetsamPriority.mm

* Source/WebKit/UIProcess/API/Cocoa/WKWebViewPrivateForTesting.h:
* Source/WebKit/UIProcess/API/Cocoa/WKWebViewTesting.mm:
(-[WKWebView _processAssertionTypeForTesting]):
(-[WKWebView _setJetsamBoostEnabledForTesting:]):
* Source/WebKit/UIProcess/AuxiliaryProcessProxy.cpp:
(WebKit::AuxiliaryProcessProxy::didFinishLaunching):
(WebKit::AuxiliaryProcessProxy::setJetsamBoostEnabled):
(WebKit::AuxiliaryProcessProxy::updateJetsamBoostAssertion):
* Source/WebKit/UIProcess/AuxiliaryProcessProxy.h:
* Source/WebKit/UIProcess/Cocoa/ProcessAssertionCocoa.mm:
(WebKit::runningBoardNameForAssertionType):
(WebKit::runningBoardDomainForAssertionType):
(WebKit::ProcessAndUIAssertion::updateRunInBackgroundCount):
* Source/WebKit/UIProcess/ProcessAssertion.cpp:
(WebKit::processAssertionTypeDescription):
* Source/WebKit/UIProcess/ProcessAssertion.h:
* Source/WebKit/UIProcess/ProcessThrottler.cpp:
(WebKit::ProcessThrottler::assertionName const):
(WebKit::ProcessThrottler::assertionTypeForState):
(WebKit::ProcessThrottler::setThrottleState):
(WebKit::ProcessThrottler::acquireAssertion):
(WebKit::ProcessThrottler::setShouldBackgroundActivitiesUseIdleJetsamBand):
* Source/WebKit/UIProcess/ProcessThrottler.h:
(WebKit::ProcessThrottler::assertionTypeForTesting const):
* Source/WebKit/UIProcess/WebProcessProxy.cpp:
(WebKit::WebProcessProxy::create):
(WebKit::WebProcessProxy::setIsInProcessCache):
(WebKit::WebProcessProxy::markIsNoLongerInPrewarmedPool):
* Tools/TestWebKitAPI/SourcesCocoa.txt:
* Tools/TestWebKitAPI/Tests/WebKit/WKWebView/ProcessJetsamPriority.mm: Added.
(waitForAssertionType):
(TEST(ProcessJetsamPriority, DisablingJetsamBoostMovesBackgroundAssertionToIdleBand)):
(TEST(ProcessJetsamPriority, DisablingJetsamBoostDoesNotAffectForegroundAssertion)):

Canonical link: https://commits.webkit.org/319809@main",

There are a couple of grid lanes
related information that is needed for the web inspector but there is no
need to hold onto the whole object so in the patch we change it to be a
local stack variable that is alive during the duration of layout.

This is mostly a mechanical change where we create the GridLanesLayout
object on the stack and then thread it through different areas of the
code where it is needed. There are some bits of RenderGrid code that
seem to need access to this object so we thread it through as an
optional std::ref to appease both the Grid and Grid Lanes situations.

* Source/WebCore/inspector/InspectorOverlay.cpp:
(WebCore::InspectorOverlay::buildGridOverlay):
This is the only piece of information that is needed outside of layout.
The web inspector overlay needs to know the grid content size so we will
keep that one piece of information on the renderer and label it so it is
clear what it is being used for.

* Source/WebCore/rendering/GridLanesLayout.cpp:
(WebCore::GridLanesLayout::performGridLanesPlacement):
populateGridPositionsForDirection needs access to a GridLanesLayout
object in this case so we wrap it in a optional std::ref so that it can
use it.

* Source/WebCore/rendering/GridLanesLayout.h:
Need to initialize some of these members as well!

(WebCore::GridLanesLayout::gridGap const): Deleted.
Unused.

* Source/WebCore/rendering/GridTrackSizingAlgorithm.cpp:
(WebCore::GridTrackSizingAlgorithm::computeTrackBasedSize const):
This one is a little interesting because all callers of this function
could not actually trigger the if (isDirectionInStackingAxis()) logic.
So I remove that code and replace it with a debug assert instead.

Canonical link: https://commits.webkit.org/319810@main",

We
already utilize the glyphGeometryCache to retrieve the cached width of an inlineTextBox's
content that we have seen before and it already has a high hit rate. However, we query
this cache essentially per word. The overhead of retrieving the cached width for workloads
with large amounts of text can be significant. To speed up the performance of retrieving
cached widths, change the value of TextBreakingPositionCache to also hold a list, where
each element is for each FontCascade of the keyed text content, and each of these elements
holds a list of non-whitespace widths.

When we populate the TextBreakingPositionCache for the first time or rebuild the
inlineItemList using the TextBreakingPositionCache and don't already have an entry for the
cached widths, populate the cache with all the non whitespace widths for a given inline
text box. Then, when we rebuild the InlineItems list during relayout and use the
TextBreakingPositionCache, use the list of cached widths to avoid calling
TextUtil::width() (and its per-word glyphGeometryCache lookup) for each InlineTextItem.
This improves locality of fetching and reading the cached widths compared to just using
glyphGeometryCache. The glyphGeometryCache is still used as fallback if the cached widths
lookup misses.

* Source/WebCore/layout/formattingContexts/inline/InlineItemsBuilder.cpp:
(WebCore::Layout::textBoxMayHaveGlyphOverflow):
(WebCore::Layout::inlineTextBoxWidthsAreCacheable):
(WebCore::Layout::fontCascadeIdentifier):
(WebCore::Layout::InlineItemsBuilder::computeInlineTextItemWidthsAndTextSpacing):
(WebCore::Layout::InlineItemsBuilder::buildInlineItemListForTextFromBreakingPositionsCache):
(WebCore::Layout::InlineItemsBuilder::handleTextContent):
(WebCore::Layout::collectWidthsFromBuiltItems):
(WebCore::Layout::InlineItemsBuilder::populateBreakingPositionCache):
* Source/WebCore/layout/formattingContexts/inline/InlineItemsBuilder.h:
* Source/WebCore/layout/formattingContexts/inline/text/TextBreakingPositionCache.cpp:
(WebCore::Layout::TextBreakingPositionCache::Entry::widths const):
(WebCore::Layout::widthsBytes):
(WebCore::Layout::TextBreakingPositionCache::addWidths):
(WebCore::Layout::TextBreakingPositionCache::approximateEntrySizeBytes):
(WebCore::Layout::TextBreakingPositionCache::evict):
(WebCore::Layout::TextBreakingPositionCache::set):
(WebCore::Layout::TextBreakingPositionCache::get const):
(WebCore::Layout::TextBreakingPositionCache::clearWidthsIfGenerationChanged):
(WebCore::Layout::TextBreakingPositionCache::widths):
* Source/WebCore/layout/formattingContexts/inline/text/TextBreakingPositionCache.h:
(WebCore::Layout::TextBreakingPositionCache::Entry::Entry):
* Source/WebCore/layout/integration/inline/LayoutIntegrationLineLayout.cpp:
(WebCore::LayoutIntegration::LineLayout::~LineLayout):
* Source/WebCore/platform/graphics/FontCascadeCache.cpp:
(WebCore::makeFontCascadeCacheKey):
* Source/WebCore/platform/graphics/FontCascadeCache.h:
* LayoutTests/fast/inline/inline-item-width-cache-stale-after-font-cache-invalidation-expected.txt: Added.
* LayoutTests/fast/inline/inline-item-width-cache-stale-after-font-cache-invalidation.html: Added.
* LayoutTests/platform/glib/TestExpectations:

Canonical link: https://commits.webkit.org/319820@main
https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=315543
rdar://176813852

Reviewed by Kimmo Kinnunen.

The MSL translator uses UB-safe wrapper functions to perform integer arithmetic via unsigned
operations, preventing Metal's LLVM backend from exploiting undefined behavior to fold away
the ANGLE_int_clamp array-bounds guard. Three operations are not routed through these wrappers:
signed unary negate, signed division by -1, and unsigned div/mod. The resulting UB lets LLVM's
optimizer eliminate the bounds clamp, allowing a WebGL2 page to index arbitrarily into GPU
device memory.

The fix routes all three operations through UB-safe wrappers: a new ANGLE_negateInt that negates
via unsigned subtraction, an extended ANGLE_div that guards divisor -1 in addition to 0, and
routing unsigned div/mod through the existing ANGLE_div/ANGLE_imod whose unsigned branches already
mask zero divisors.

The new wrappers are tested in IntegerOverflowClampTest.cpp.

* Source/ThirdParty/ANGLE/ANGLE.xcodeproj/project.pbxproj:
* Source/ThirdParty/ANGLE/src/compiler/translator/msl/EmitMetal.cpp:
(GetOperatorString):
* Source/ThirdParty/ANGLE/src/compiler/translator/msl/ProgramPrelude.cpp:
(PROGRAM_PRELUDE_DECLARE):
* Source/ThirdParty/ANGLE/src/tests/angle_end2end_tests.gni:
* Source/ThirdParty/ANGLE/src/tests/gl_tests/IntegerOverflowClampTest.cpp: Added.
(angle::IntegerOverflowClampTest::IntegerOverflowClampTest):
(angle::IntegerOverflowClampTest::runShader):

Originally-landed-as: 305413.991@safari-7624.5-branch (43afeddf1aab). rdar://185368065
Canonical link: https://commits.webkit.org/319823@main",
