Animated GIF images combined with a WebGL canvas cause high CPU usage. The test below renders an animated WebGL square alongside animated GIFs. Open your task manager to observe CPU consumption.

Open your OS task manager or Chrome's built-in task manager (Shift+Esc) and observe CPU usage of this tab. The animated WebGL square combined with the animated GIFs may cause excessive CPU consumption on affected builds.
