Manual password accessory test

Use this page to force the password keyboard accessory while fullscreen or installed as a fullscreen PWA.

Before testing

  1. Install and launch the patched APK with WebAppShortEdgesCutoutMode enabled.
  2. For the best repro, use Chrome menu -> Install app, then launch this page from the installed app icon.
  3. Use a phone-sized emulator or real phone. Tablet/desktop-sized windows can intentionally use floating accessory UI.
  4. Make sure the soft keyboard appears. On emulator, enable show_ime_with_hard_keyboard.

Step 1: create a saved password

Fill both fields manually, submit, and accept Chrome's save-password prompt. Pre-filled values are intentionally avoided because Chrome may not offer to save them.

Step 2: enter fullscreen

If this page is not already installed as a fullscreen PWA, tap this button.

Step 3: verify the accessory

  1. Tap the password field below.
  2. The soft keyboard should open.
  3. The Chrome password accessory row should sit directly above the keyboard.
  4. Fail case: there is a large empty gap and the password/pay buttons look like they are floating away from the keyboard.
Screenshot target: Capture the bottom of the screen while the password field is focused. Include the password accessory row and the top of the keyboard.
