Separate Chromium test app

The APK uses package com.januschka.jxlperf, so it can be installed next to Chrome. Android may ask you to allow installs from this browser. The build is locally signed and intended only for this performance test.

Run benchmark

JXL enabled

4096 x 4096 VarDCT image, 5 measured decodes

Open this page in the installed JXL Perf Chromium app. Close other apps, let the phone cool down, then run the test. One warm-up decode is excluded.

Capture internal jxl-rs throughput

Use Chrome's built-in histogram page

The benchmark above measures end-to-end JavaScript-visible decode time. The APK also records only time spent inside jxl-rs, using the same timing as the existing VLOG.

  1. Run the benchmark once.
  2. Open a new tab in the JXL Perf Chromium app.
  3. Type chrome://histograms/#Blink.Jxl.DecodeThroughput.
  4. Screenshot Blink.Jxl.DecodeThroughput.Parallel and send it together with the copied benchmark results.
